The Kittim N. Sherrod Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that was founded in 2011 by the family of Kittim Sherrod following Kittim’s untimely death from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). Kittim was an Edison High  school senior and captain of the varsity football team when he suddenly passed from HCM during track practice on April 30, 2009. He was not only an outstanding athlete, but also a talented student and respected member of his community.

The KNS Foundation’s mission is to to directly and indirectly support research and awareness programs on sudden cardiac death, with emphasis on Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM).

Live with Heart

A highlight for the Kittim N. Sherrod Foundation is its’ annual fundraiser in support of The Kittim N. Sherrod “Live with Heart Award.” The award is for graduating senior varsity Edison High School football players.
